Trauma To Power was born from firsthand experience with adversity and the determination to rise beyond it.

After surviving being shot 12 times and navigating the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual challenges that followed, I became committed to understanding what allows people not only to survive hardship, but to grow through it.

Today, Trauma To Power helps clients break through limitations, strengthen resilience, improve performance, and create meaningful change in their personal and professional lives.

Through a combination of lived experience, evidence-based behavioral principles, and holistic personal development practices, clients gain practical tools to navigate challenges and build a more empowered future.

Why This Work Exists

What the Recovery Taught Me

The hardest part of recovery was not the surgeries. It was what came after. The work of rebuilding identity, relationships, work, and purpose with a body and mind that had been through something most people would not understand from the outside. There were no easy frameworks for that. There were no clean ten-step plans. What worked was a combination of behavioral science, brutally honest internal work, and the kind of practical accountability that does not let a person off the hook.

That experience is the foundation of what Trauma To Power does for clients today. People who have been through significant adversity tend to underestimate what they are capable of for years after the event, even when they look successful from the outside. The patterns that helped them survive can quietly start running their decisions long after those patterns have stopped serving them. Naming those patterns and changing them takes structure, not just willpower.

The same is true in less visible forms of adversity. The entrepreneur who has been carrying the company for a decade. The professional who has been operating in survival mode for so long that performance under pressure has become the only mode they know. The leader who has stopped recognizing the person in the mirror.

The work is the same. Recognize what is in the way. Rebuild the operating system. Rise into something larger. Empower other people to do the same.

Why Trauma To Power?

A Rare Combination of Lived Experience & Behavioral Science

  • Many people know success. Few understand recovery.
  • Many people know leadership. Few understand resilience.
  • Many people teach mindset. Few have rebuilt their lives from the ground up.

At Trauma To Power, clients benefit from a unique blend of lived experience, human behavior insights, trauma-informed coaching principles, and practical growth strategies designed to help people perform at their best, no matter what they're facing.

Approach and Background

How the Work Is Built

The Trauma To Power method draws from several sources that, taken together, produce a coaching approach grounded enough for serious work and practical enough for adults who do not have time for theory dressed up as insight.

  • Behavioral science. What actually changes human behavior, what just sounds like it does, and how to design an engagement so that the change holds after the session ends.
  • Trauma-informed coaching principles. Recognizing how stress, adversity, and past experience shape decision-making and leadership, and structuring the conversation so growth happens without retraumatization.
  • Resilience and performance psychology. The body of work on how high performers stay high performers under pressure, recover from setbacks, and sustain output over long horizons.
  • Lived experience. A long, honest recovery and the rebuild that came after it. Not a credential by itself, but the thing that keeps the work honest.

The work is not therapy and does not replace it. It is goal-directed coaching held to a professional standard, with clear boundaries around what coaching can and cannot do.

The Working Relationship

What Working Together Looks Like

Coaching engagements at Trauma To Power are direct without being harsh, warm without being soft on the things that matter, and structured without being rigid. The first few sessions tend to feel different from what people expect. Clients often come in ready to talk about a goal and end up surfacing a pattern that has been driving the goal for years.

What clients tell me they value most is the willingness to call something honestly when it shows up. Not in a way that judges them, but in a way that gives them the information they need to choose differently. That requires trust, and trust requires consistency. Both are built one session at a time.

Each engagement is held to a few non-negotiable standards. Sessions start and end on time. The conversation is confidential within the bounds of the coaching relationship. Commitments made in session are tracked and revisited, not forgotten. The coach shows up prepared, and the client is expected to do the same. Those expectations are not posturing. They are the conditions under which serious change tends to happen.
